Resources

Isplora’s editorial team of architects have decided to reveal the graphic design resources websites that they have used the most over the last few years

How many times did you feel like experimenting with the graphic representation of your designs? Everything can be done, all you need is the right tools: internet is full of interesting references, but to help you in the search Isplora’s editorial team of architects have decided to reveal the graphic design resources websites that they have used the most over the last few years. These are the websites to consider when you are working on the post-production of your project: you will find a bit of everything, from the textures of materials to trees in vector format.

Icons, Texture and cut-outs

Let's start with the famous Nounproject, a global community whose slogan perfectly summarizes its features and potential: icons for everything. The spirit of collective collaboration is key on Architextures: in addition to finding a well-stocked library of textures and cut-outs, you can upload your own to facilitate the work of others. Even on Deviantart, although it takes a little more time to explore the database of this rich and varied online gallery, there are many textures and brush sets for Photoshop and Illustrator designed by enthusiasts of the sector.

Skalgubbar and Pimpmydrawing

On the well-known website Skalgubbar  instead, architect Teodor Javanaud Emdén, a member of the Snøhetta team, provides a library of high-quality cut-out people. The fun thing is that all the people that he cuts-out and uploads on the site are his friends!! Pimpmydrawing is a free online library that collects people, trees and cars designed in a simple but detailed style, downloadable in dwg or illustrator format

Our Choice: Dimensions Guide

But our absolute favorite is Dimensions Guide, perfect for those tired of downloading complicated and messy CAD blocks: their collection, available in .dwg, .svg and .jpg formats, is impressive and really well done, but above all it is all listed and correctly sized, from the ping pong racket to the Barcelona Chair by Mies.
